2 years, 1 month

So, I’m a little late posting this one, I just totally forgot.  I have no excuse, other than I was too excited about homemade deodorant and bubbles to remember. Bad mama!

Sophie is 2 years and 1 month, or 25 months.  Not quite sure how to put it, but there it is.  Yesterday we went to Rocky Point Park – we hadn’t been in ages because my knee has been acting up and it’s a 20 minute walk from home, and I figured it would be nice and quiet since school is still in session.  I hadn’t counted on an entire school spending the morning there. Wowzers, it was busy.  But Sophie had a grand ol’ time, wanted to play with the big boys on the bouncy octopus, and climb the rope wall with the big girls.

This shark thing is awesome!

She was also a big fan of the swing yesterday, mostly because I kept steering her towards them in an attempt to keep her away from the running/yelling/jumping of 6-11 year olds.

Schwing!!!!

Sophie’s latest favourite thing to do, besides blowing bubbles and playing soccer with Dada, is putting things to sleep.  “Mama, go to schweep!”.  Then I have to lie on the couch, and she will proceed to suffocate me with a blanket, telling me to schweep tight, shhhhh shhhhhh.  It’s pretty funny.  She’s been putting Baba to schweep, her dolls, whatever she can get her hands on.

Her and Oliver continue to have their playdates, and their latest thing is hiding from each other in our closet.

Where Olla go?

Ahhh - gotcha!!

Then they run around, slam doors, and generally try to scare the crap out of each other.  After they tear the place apart, then stop for a few minutes to eat something, they do yoga:

Good downward dog kidlets!

We’ve also recently started getting together with some other families we’ve met through my Mama Renew group.  We’re still working on a proper name…

Homemade Community

We plan on meeting every second Sunday, outside preferably if it’s nice, eat and play.  So far, it’s been a blast, and we’ve only had two.

We decided to take family pictures as well, because we have millions of pictures of Sophie, but not so many family shots.

The Kizik-Even's

Then Oliver wanted in on our family shot – why not?  When he marries Sophie in 28 years, this will be really funny.

A couple of weeks ago, we had a dinner picnic at Old Orchard Park, just around the Inlet.  It’s a beautiful park with a sandy beach, and a little playground as well.  We enjoyed sandwiches and fruit, and playtime in the playground after dinner.  That’s the great thing about where we live – a 5 minute drive takes us here, it’s beautiful.

Pretty sure Eran had more fun than Sophie.

So, it’s a bit of a catch-up post, and we’re into summer now finally. We’re still waiting for summer weather to get here, but until it does, we’ll just keep motoring along, enjoying what we have.

Sophie, when you water the plants, you aim the nozzle *away* from your face.
